Appetizers mean different things to people. When I think of appetizers, it means dips or non-utensil things that are so yummy that you do not want to stop eating them. I also like it when the recipes are simple and have few ingredients. I have a few, and I will add more when I find new ones – that I love.
DIPS
I have a few dips in my arsenal. These are usually eaten with crackers or chips. I will list what I eat them with, and I will also list the wine I would pair with it. Now I do want you to experiment with everything that I list here. It may be my favorite, but it does not need to be your favorite pairing.
Chili Cheese Dip: 15 ounces of Hormel Chili (your preference of chili) and 16 ounces Velveeta. This has so many different ways to make it. This is what I use and is one of my favorite recipes.
I eat this with Fritos Scoops, and my favorite wine pairing with this is Cabernet Sauvignon.
Ranch Dip: Mix 8 ounces of Sour Cream, 8 ounces of Hellman’s (needs to be a mayonnaise) and a dry mix packet of Hidden Valley Ranch original. Once this is mixed together, refrigerate (flavors get stronger the longer in the refrigerator)
This dip is amazing! It goes well with veggies, plain chips, cheese Doritos, crackers, and pickles. The possibilities are endless with this dip. Since I have this dip at all my gatherings, the wine pairing is hard to say what was my favorite. I would say a white chardonnay, possibly.
Appetizers
Some of these appetizers I do not have a name for, so feel free to name them what you want if you like them.
Mini Bagel: 8 ounces of Cream Cheese (softened), 6 to 8 ounces of Buddig beef. Cut up the beef into small pieces and mix with the cream cheese. I use a hand mixer. Add 2 tablespoons of garlic powder (your preference) and a little milk to make is spreadable. Once all mix, set aside or refrigerate a bit. So you will need a bag of mini bagels, open the bagels and spread the mixture on the halves. The longer the mixture sits, the stronger the garlic flavor gets. One of my favorite wines to pair this with is Pinot Noir.
Finally, these are just a few of my favorite recipes. I will add more as the Holiday season gets closer. If you have any questions, please contact me here. Check back often for updates and more helpful information. Also, sign up for my monthly email for some amazing tips and deals that I find.
